On Comic Collection...
Anyone have a good, solid, reliable, and most importantly -free- piece of software to organize my comic collection?

The best one out there, Comic Collectorz, is obnoxiously over-priced.

I think I might just go to the ol EXCEL spreadsheet, but I would like a couple nice bells and whistles...

Anyone?

What kind of bells and whistles are you looking for? Would an Access database work?

It might.

Really, all I want it to do is have:

TITLE
ISSUE #
COMMENTS:

I want to be able to input a RUN of books, ie: 'Deadpool #1 - #50' and have it to recognize I have ALL OF THOSE without me having to input each one individually.

I would also LOVE if it could print a list of #s that I'm missing. ie: I have X-Men #1, #30, #50, and #100 - #300. I want it to print a list that says I need #2, #3, #4, #5... #49, #51... etc.

I'm sure Access can do it. Excel can too.

The real problem is I've played with the Collectorz software, and it is just a pretty piece of computing. It uploads the covers, will input on scanbars, tells you who was in the book, etc etc etc.

I don't NEED all that - I really just want to know what I'm missing, and what box each of them are =)

I guess that means it would need a BOX # field too... hmm..

The problem with the comicbase software is that it only does collections of 500. I have a lot more than that.

I'll try it out though. If it's more reasonable than COLLECTORZ than I might just bite the bullet.

in that case give comicbookdb.com a try. Then you don't have to worry about backing anything up since it is all online.
